U.S born Canadian superstar Brooks has been shredding on the international surf scene. Born in Boerne, Texas, and raised on the coast of Hawaii, Brooks only started surfing at nine years old, but her rise since then has been nothing short of remarkable and she is not just holding her own on the world stages but rewriting history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her 2025 debut season on the elite World Surf League Championship Tour, Brooks made history as the first Canadian surfer ever to finish inside the top eight world rankings. She capped off her breakout year by winning the 2025 WSL Rookie of the year, and becoming the only women\u2019s rookie to advance past the mid-season cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At such a young age, Brooks has already captured the attention of competitors with her strong finishes on some of the most elite surf stages. Her win over surf legend Stephanie Gilmore at the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro stands as one of her biggest trophies and sits as a defining moment for Brooks streaming her way into the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though rooted in the waves of Hawaii, Brooks proudly represents Canada through her father, with whom she shares dual Canadian citizenship. Competing under the Canadian flag has allowed her to make history for the country and inspire the next wave of surfers from coast to coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
