Mark your calendars: Queen of the Peak<\/strong> returns September 27\u201328, 2025<\/strong>, celebrating women\u2019s surfing in Tofino with shortboard, longboard, and Princess of the Peak divisions. North Chestermans promises to be unforgettable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This contest is more than competition it\u2019s a celebration of community, progression, and the athletes who inspire Canada\u2019s surf culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olin Sisters Lead the Charge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Among the standout names are Sanoa and Mathea Dempfle-Olin<\/strong>, two sisters whose careers have defined Canadian surfing on the world stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Sanoa<\/strong> became Canada\u2019s first-ever Olympic surfer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Mathea<\/strong> is Canada\u2019s first WSL Qualifying Series event winner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Both grew up surfing the wild coastline of Vancouver Island and will return home to compete in Queen of the Peak this year. Their journey reflects what Queen of the Peak is all about connection to nature, community, and inspiring the next generation of women surfers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A Community-Driven Event<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Founded by Krissy Montgomery<\/strong> (Surf Sisters Surf School) and Jay Gildenhuys<\/strong> (Shelter Restaurant), Queen of the Peak was built to give women equal opportunities in surf competition. Today, it\u2019s a cornerstone of Tofino\u2019s culture and a showcase of cold-water talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Queen of the Peak continues to highlight Tofino\u2019s unique surf scene, where women often outnumber men in the lineup and year-round swell makes progression possible every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    September Schedule: Surf & Celebrate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Queen of the Peak is the crown jewel of a packed September calendar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Sept 26 \u2013 Lucky Logger Invitational<\/strong>
      A 16-person coed longboard event honoring surfing\u2019s roots. Featuring Tofino locals and international logging stars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Sept 27\u201328 \u2013 Queen of the Peak Surf Contest<\/strong>
      Two full days of world-class shortboard, longboard, and Princess of the Peak competition. Heats run 8:00 AM \u2013 5:00 PM on Saturday and 8:00 AM \u2013 4:00 PM on Sunday. Free beach shuttles available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Sept 28 \u2013 Wrap-Up Dance Party<\/strong>
      Celebrate the champions and close the weekend at The Maq, 5:00\u201311:30 PM. Tickets available now.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
