Surf Canada is stoked to announce the six athletes who\u2019ll represent Canada at the 2025 ISA World Surfing Games, happening Sept 5-14, 2025<\/strong> in the world-class waves of Surf City, El Salvador. It’s a huge moment for Canadian surfing, and we couldn\u2019t be more excited to cheer on these talented athletes as they take on the world!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Leading the charge is Team Captain, Cody Young<\/strong>, returning for his second year. Joining him are Ocea Green<\/strong>, Aqua Bruhwiler<\/strong>, Reed Platenius<\/strong>, and Tristan Day<\/strong>, with Cath Bruhwiler<\/strong> rounding out the crew her fourth time competing in the ISA World Surfing Games after previous appearances in ’94, ’96, and ’98. Together, they\u2019re bringing their A game and a commitment to showcasing the strength and depth of Canadian surfing on the world stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The athletes earned their spots through a combination of WSL rankings<\/strong> and Rip Curl Nationals results<\/strong>, making this team a true reflection of the top-tier surfing talent Canada has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Coach Shannon Brown<\/strong>, a Level 2 Certified Coach<\/strong>, is also a proud ambassador for Reef Canada<\/strong> and a team rider for Aftanas Surfboards<\/strong> and Long Beach Surf Shop<\/strong>. His coaching style combines hands-on beach instruction with video analysis to fine-tune surfers\u2019 skills. Whether it\u2019s a half day session<\/strong> or a full day<\/strong> in the water, Shannon\u2019s approach is tailored to each athlete\u2019s needs, helping them reach their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
