Tofino’s surf community just got a little more connected, thanks to a new club Salty Moon Collective surf club founded by local surfer Alyssa James.
Built on the idea that busy people deserve more time in the ocean, Salty Moon Collective is carving out space for surfers to come together every Thursday for a midweek session. The goal? To make surfing feel accessible and consistent, even for those juggling work, family, and life off the beach.
Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or just learning how to catch waves, Salty Moon is built around community, stoke, and shaking off stress in the best way possible surfing!
Clubs like this highlight what makes Canada’s surf scene so unique: it’s not just about chasing swells, but about building connection and carving out joy, even when life is busy. From the rugged coastline of Tofino to the growing surf hubs across the country, locals are finding creative ways to prioritize the ocean.
