Mark your calendars: Queen of the Peak returns September 27–28, 2025, celebrating women’s surfing in Tofino with shortboard, longboard, and Princess of the Peak divisions. North Chestermans promises to be unforgettable.
This contest is more than competition it’s a celebration of community, progression, and the athletes who inspire Canada’s surf culture.

The Olin Sisters Lead the Charge
Among the standout names are Sanoa and Mathea Dempfle-Olin, two sisters whose careers have defined Canadian surfing on the world stage.
- Sanoa became Canada’s first-ever Olympic surfer.
- Mathea is Canada’s first WSL Qualifying Series event winner.
Both grew up surfing the wild coastline of Vancouver Island and will return home to compete in Queen of the Peak this year. Their journey reflects what Queen of the Peak is all about connection to nature, community, and inspiring the next generation of women surfers.

A Community-Driven Event
Founded by Krissy Montgomery (Surf Sisters Surf School) and Jay Gildenhuys (Shelter Restaurant), Queen of the Peak was built to give women equal opportunities in surf competition. Today, it’s a cornerstone of Tofino’s culture and a showcase of cold-water talent.
Queen of the Peak continues to highlight Tofino’s unique surf scene, where women often outnumber men in the lineup and year-round swell makes progression possible every day.
