Surf Canada is stoked to announce the six athletes who’ll represent Canada at the 2025 ISA World Surfing Games, happening Sept 5-14, 2025 in the world-class waves of Surf City, El Salvador. It’s a huge moment for Canadian surfing, and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer on these talented athletes as they take on the world!
Leading the charge is Team Captain, Cody Young, returning for his second year. Joining him are Ocea Green, Aqua Bruhwiler, Reed Platenius, and Tristan Day, with Cath Bruhwiler rounding out the crew her fourth time competing in the ISA World Surfing Games after previous appearances in ’94, ’96, and ’98. Together, they’re bringing their A game and a commitment to showcasing the strength and depth of Canadian surfing on the world stage.
The athletes earned their spots through a combination of WSL rankings and Rip Curl Nationals results, making this team a true reflection of the top-tier surfing talent Canada has to offer.

Coach Shannon Brown, a Level 2 Certified Coach, is also a proud ambassador for Reef Canada and a team rider for Aftanas Surfboards and Long Beach Surf Shop. His coaching style combines hands-on beach instruction with video analysis to fine-tune surfers’ skills.
